Job description

Safeway is a White Glove First and Final Mile Logistics company located in Indianapolis.  We are part of the United / Mayflower Network that has been around for over 100 years.  We are currently looking for a Local full-time Class A Driver.

As a Safeway Local Class A Delivery Driver, you will be held accountable for timely and safe delivery of freight to customers.   You will be responsible for working with the OTR dispatch team and providing exceptional customer service to customers/clients.

Delivery Driver Primary responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

Loading/unload and Spot trailers

Making regional runs with occasional overnight

Assisting as a forklift operator in the warehouse to offload and load trailers

Available and flexible in being in a “GO TO” type role to aid and support local/long distance operations

Obtain delivery confirmation as per specifications via tablet and/or paperwork

Provide exceptional customer service to our customers

Maintain ongoing communication with Dispatch

Follow all safety procedures in the performance of job duties

Other duties may be assigned including general warehouse and cleanup duties

 

Delivery Driver Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience driving a 53’ Van Trailer

Excellent and prompt attendance

Professional appearance

Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Excellent customer service skills

Delivery Driver Qualifications Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Valid Indiana Driver's license

Class A CDL

Clean MVR & PSP

Current DOT physical with valid Medical Certificate

Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
