Safety Management Group is seeking a local Construction Coordinator in Boston, Massachusetts.
The key function is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client's needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel.
Overview of Job Responsibilities: 
  • Support scheduling to ensure timely project completion.
  • Provide coordination of work activities, including project look-ahead plans.
  • Work with the HSE department on the issuance of Owner work permits.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Project Team and vendors during field activities.
  • Participate in team huddles and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support event management and reporting process.
  • Engage directly with the workforce to influence safety practices, HSE principles, emergency response readiness, and expectations for hazard reporting.
  • Build trusted relationships to promote an interdependent culture grounded in accountability and mutual respect.

Requirements

  • Construction/Management Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience
  • Effective organizational and communication skills
  • Construction cost estimating and scheduling experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Proficient in MS Project (ability to create, update, and manage schedules)
  • Ability to work weekends and provide evening coverage
  • Experience managing civil and mechanical construction projects


Physical Demands of the job may include:

  • Moving about long distances
  • Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
  • Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
  • Working in extreme weather
  • Being exposed to loud noises
