Job description


Primary Function

The Project Engineer will assist with the following items:

  • Client Management and Satisfaction
  • Project Financial management
  • Contract Management
  • Schedule Management
  • Quality Management
  • Safety Management
  • Collaboration With Field Teams

Duties/Responsibilities

Assist Senior Project Manager through all phases of construction management including:

  • Assembling and distributing drawings and bid packages.
  • Change management 1.
  • Maintain project budgets, monthly reports etc.
  • Involved in compiling owner billings.
  • Correspondence to project team members, both internal and external.
  • Flexibility to meet needs and requirements of this position as they vary depending on the project and per business necessity.
  • Continuously maintain the company standards on quality, efficiency, safety and consistency.
  • Ensure high level client satisfaction throughout the construction process and by providing premier project execution.
  • Work closely with Project Superintendent to ensure weekly look ahead schedules are maintained during construction. Maintain weekly schedule updates for Superintendent if required.
  • Ensure submittals are reviewed and approved in a timely manner.
  • Direct subcontractors for coordination of work along with onsite meetings.
  • Ensure projects, workers, and work methods are OSHA compliant with superintendent.
  • Ensure integrated work plans including safety requirements and pre-construction planning, prior to each trade starting work on site.
  • Assist Superintendent with first day, first hour safety requirements are reviewed with each worker.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic working knowledge of commercial construction.
  • Familiarity with use of industry related software tools such as Procore, Timberline, Primavera, Excel, Word & Microsoft Office.
  • Competent technical writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal personnel.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently & collaboratively with the team.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, initiative and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous construction management experience.
  • Construction internships.
  • Field construction experience.
  • Construction Management degree.


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to work in both office and job site environments with medium physical strength requirements.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction sites.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Travel may be required.
