Job description

Build a Career in Hospitality at PJ Lobster House

PJ Lobster House is looking for an experienced, professional server who is passionate about hospitality and takes pride in creating exceptional dining experiences. This is more than simply taking orders and delivering food-our servers are responsible for guiding guests through every step of their visit while working closely with the entire restaurant team to deliver the level of service our guests have come to expect.

We are looking for dependable professionals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, communicate well with both guests and coworkers, and understand that great restaurants are built through teamwork.

This is a year-round opportunity with consistent scheduling, opportunities for growth, and the chance to build a long-term career with one of Long Island's most established family-owned seafood restaurants.

What You'll Do
  • Welcome every guest with a friendly, professional attitude.
  • Guide guests through our menu, daily specials, and seafood selections.
  • Recommend appetizers, entrees, desserts, wine, beer, cocktails, and specialty beverages.
  • Accurately enter food and beverage orders into our POS system.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly. Our servers deliver their own food-there are no dedicated food runners.
  • Monitor tables throughout the meal to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Answer restaurant telephones professionally.
  • Take accurate takeout orders.
  • Assist guests with reservations when needed.
  • Work closely with hosts, bartenders, bussers, kitchen staff, and managers.
  • Help bus and reset tables during busy periods.
  • Complete opening, closing, and side work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dining room.
What Makes Someone Successful Here

The best servers at PJ Lobster House are dependable, positive, professional, and team-oriented. They communicate well, stay calm during busy shifts, take pride in their appearance, and genuinely enjoy taking care of people.

We're looking for someone who wants to become part of our team-not someone who's simply looking for their next serving job.
