Loan Assistant / Loan Processor

Prairie Village, Kansas

Position Summary

A well-established community bank is seeking an experienced Loan Assistant / Loan Processor to join its Prairie Village, Kansas branch. This is a key support position responsible for processing and coordinating a diverse portfolio of consumer and real estate loans while partnering closely with an experienced lending team.

This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned loan professional who can step into a fast-paced environment with minimal training, enjoys working directly with customers, and understands the value of accuracy, responsiveness, and exceptional service in community banking.

Position Responsibilities

  • Process consumer and real estate loan requests from application through closing.
  • Collect and review financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with bank policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage all TRID-related timelines and documentation for applicable residential real estate loans.
  • Prepare and distribute required disclosures and closing documentation.
  • Order and track appraisals, title work, flood determinations, insurance, and other third-party documentation.
  • Maintain organized loan files and ensure documentation is received in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with borrowers, lenders, attorneys, title companies, and other third parties throughout the loan process.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the lending team.
  • Assist with servicing and maintaining an active loan portfolio.
  • Perform all duties necessary to prepare loans for closing, excluding underwriting and credit approval.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of loan processing or loan assistant experience.
  • Hands-on experience processing residential real estate loans.
  • Strong working knowledge of TRID regulations, disclosures, and required timelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
