Summary: - The ML & IL booking Team Lead oversees the booking and paid loan processing for mortgage and consumer loans. This role ensures the accurate and timely daily boarding of loans and collateral releases. The team lead provides workflow coordination, serves as a technical resource, provides training and issue resolution. This position promotes operational efficiency, data integrity and a high standard of customer service to internal and external customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily booking of mortgage and consumer loans to ensure tasks are completed accurately and within service levels
  • Oversees daily paid loan processing to ensure collateral is released within the set service level
  • Assists staff as a working team lead in the event of PTO or other staffing issues
  • Performs quality control checks and assists in resolving discrepancies
  • Uploads data to core from data warehouse & pull MERS reports
  • Serves as the 2nd escalation point, behind the senior associate, for complex system issues or servicing questions
  • Provides guidance and support to associates on procedures, regulatory requirements, system functions and best practices
  • Offers constructive feedback and helps reinforce performance expectations
  • Completes and delivers performance reviews
  • Sets annual SMART goals for associates
  • Organizes quarterly team building activities
  • Organizes and leads monthly team meetings
  • Assists with interviewing, onboarding and training for new associates as well as ongoing training for existing associates
  • Supports other lines of businesses as the subject matter expert for boarding and paid processing
  • Assists in developing, updating and reviewing procedures
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
  • Supports testing for system updates, conversions or new product implementation
  • Comply with government, regulatory and Bank policies and procedures

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position:

  • Understanding of standard concepts, practices, procedures, regulations and compliance within a loan operations environment, as well as bank loan policies and procedures
  • Ability to supervise, mentor and coach the team with compassion, empathy and live Centier's Culture and Values
  • Works under demanding time constraints and expectations, including prioritizing and handling multiple tasks throughout the day
  • Ability to solve problems and see different sides of an issue to make the best judgment or course of action.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a banking related area of study with at 2+ years supervisory experience or
  • 5+ years of loan servicing experience with at least 3 years management experience in banking or loan related environment.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to tolerate moderate noise levels
  • Ability to sit or remain sedentary for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to communicate with others through telephone conversations, electronic mail, memos and face to face discussions with individuals or teams
