As a Specialty Banking Portfolio Manager I, you will support Specialty Banking business development and senior Portfolio Managers on the identification of prospects and referrals on a national and regional basis; and coordination of marketing efforts on identified prospects with Bank team partners. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including effectively supporting the management and senior Portfolio Managers with profitable client relationships and work with other areas in the Bank including Credit, Loan Operations and Executive Management.ย  Must become knowledgeable of the Bankโ€™s lending, depository, treasury management, merchant services, wealth, trust, etc. groups and products for both new and existing bank clients.ย ย  This position will assist in the review and structuring of large complex transactions, help present deals to credit officers, and help your team negotiate credit terms. Also, you will underwrite on pre-screen memos and loan presentations.ย ย 

Additionally, the PM I will assist the Managing Directors and Senior Portfolio Managers by ensuring the overall success and growth of an assigned portfolio by deepening relationships of existing clients and new relationships.ย  Specialty Portfolio Manager I's are also expected to manage an existing portfolio of clients and monitor their operating performance that includes reviewing monthly/quarterly financial statements, completing renewals, increases, annual reviews, watch loan reports, borrowing base reconciliations, and monitor client relationship for compliance with credit standards.ย 

You will be asked to participate in community and business functions to ensure a positive image for the bank within the regions marketplace industry and industry specific groups, establishing referral contacts within the community is an important part of the role. Finally, you will build a great rapport with clients and fellow associates and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.

All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.

Minimum Requirements:ย To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications.

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3+ years of relevant experience in specialty or commercial banking.
  • Related specialty banking or finance experience.

Desired Qualifications:ย To be considered an ideal candidate, you should possess some of the following qualifications:

  • MBA or certification in the field.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in specialty or commercial banking.
  • Industry specific credit background.
  • Moodyโ€™s Risk Analyst experience.
  • Completed formal credit training program.
  • Strong communication, writing, and sales skills.
