Inbound/Outbound ClerkPosition Summary

The Inbound/Outbound Clerk is responsible for supporting the daily receiving and shipping operations of the warehouse. This position ensures that inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately, documented properly, and coordinated efficiently with warehouse personnel, drivers, carriers, and supervisors.

The role requires strong attention to detail, basic computer and data-entry skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process inbound and outbound shipments according to company procedures and customer requirements.
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities, item numbers, shipping documents, and related information.
  • Inspect inbound shipments for shortages, overages, visible damage, incorrect items, or other discrepancies.
  • Prepare outbound orders for shipment and verify shipment information before release.
  • Confirm item numbers, quantities, labels, pallet counts, and shipping documentation for outbound loads.
  • Print and prepare shipping labels, packing lists, bills of lading, receiving documents, and other required paperwork.
  • Coordinate inbound appointments and outbound carrier pickups as needed.
  • Communicate with truck drivers, carriers, warehouse associates, and supervisors regarding shipment status and dock activity.
  • Maintain accurate records of receiving and shipping transactions.
  • Report damaged, missing, incorrect, or otherwise discrepant shipments to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with researching and resolving receiving, inventory, and shipping discrepancies.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound freight is properly labeled, staged, and identified.
  • Perform data entry and update shipment information in warehouse and transportation systems.
  • Maintain organized files and records for shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Assist with inventory verification and product location checks when necessary.
  • Follow warehouse safety procedures and company policies at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse management.
Qualifications
  • Mandarin Chinese speaker is strongly preferred.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Previous experience in warehouse shipping, receiving, logistics, or inventory control preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a warehouse team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
