Warehouse Associate Job Description

The Dock and Conversion Department is the first and last stop in the workflow and directly impacts the ability of other departments to operate without bottlenecks or downtime. The Forklift/Warehouse Associate is responsible for converting materials for production, loading/unloading trucks, and distributing incoming deliveries to the appropriate people/departments.


This a regular, full-time hourly position. Overtime may be required depending on business volume and demands. The Forklift/Warehouse Associate reports to the Dock and Conversion Supervisor.


Responsibilities:

  • Help organize dock and storage areas, prepare for material orders prior to arrival, and make space for completed material prior to departure.
  • Ensure all packages coming down the conveyer belt are taped correctly and placed in the correct carrier's bin.
  • Assist with carrier pickups by moving all finished orders to the dock and helping load trucks when necessary.
  • Unload material deliveries and complete all paperwork to ensure the accuracy of shipments.
  • Keep material inventory rotated using First-In; First-Out strategy.
  • Ensure production is adequately stocked with materials throughout the day to reduce workflow gaps.
  • Operate band and orbital saws, basic knowledge and experience measuring and using hand-tools,
  • Support the Production team by building crates to ship orders and cutting production materials as needed.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least one-year shipping, warehouse, or conversion experience is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes and paperwork
  • Knowledge of federal and state worker safety rules and regulations
  • Capable of working independently and as a contributing team member
  • 1+ year experience operating a forklift strongly preferred


Education and Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current forklift certification is preferred but not required
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
