Job description

The Load Planner optimizes freight transportation by matching loads with available trucks, drivers, and trailers to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure on-time delivery. They analyze routes, utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS), manage driver schedules, and act as a key liaison between customers and dispatchers to optimize capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Freight Planning: Utilize TMS software to schedule and optimize shipments, ensuring loads meet weight, volume, and safety requirements.
  • Asset Management: Coordinate daily, matching available tractors and trailers with customer cargo.
  • Driver Coordination: Assign loads to drivers, maintaining communication to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Customer Service: Liaise with customers to solicit business, provide updates, and resolve service issues.
  • Logistics Analysis: Research and troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, such as detention times or route delays, to improve efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills amp; Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience in logistics, dispatching, or transportation.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
