Job description

At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role is ODLP 1 General Labor Rate ($25.23) - Weeks 1 - 6, until ODLP successfully completes JTPRs. After completing JTPRs pay will increase to Skilled rate.
  • Schedule varies from week to week (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)

Summary Description:The Warehouse Forklift ODLP position assists the warehouse and warehouse operators in all tasks and functions that are performed within the scope of the Warehouse operation.
Product Integrity:
  • At all times, learn and operate material handling equipment in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures and in accordance with all company policies, corporate rules, and regulations and OSHA requirements.
  • Actively participate in the training and learning process of any warehouse task.
  • Learn the needs and actively support any warehouse operations such as loading/ unloading cheese or whey products, ingredients, or supplies.
  • Learn and be responsible to maintain that all products are stored appropriately and in an orderly fashion.
  • Learn and be responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards across all storage and warehouse areas in an orderly and sanitary conditions.
  • Learn and be responsible for maintaining and adhering to inventory policies and control.
  • Learn and be able to perform tasks to work collaboratively with different departments to ensure that all operational needs are met.
  • Learn to communicate between co-workers, departments and supervisors as required.
  • Adhere to all company and regulatory GMPs.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must successfully complete JTPRs and consistently perform work according to SOPs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Shipping Office Support:
  • Assisting in clerical tasks as needed such as making out customer fill orders for cheese shipments, maintaining all load out operator paperwork, trailer inspections product movements, pallet exchange forms and receiving documents
  • Scheduling loads, managing inventory
  • Other shipping support tasks as assigned

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
  • Must be minimum of 18 years old
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language
  • 1 year sit down and/or .5 years stand up forklift experience within the last 5 years.

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience in the shipping, warehouse and inventory operations is preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities/Competencies:
  • Ability to learn food safety expectations and SOPs.
  • Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.
  • Proficient in math and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to become SAP and computer literate.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver on deadlines.
  • Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Working Relationships:
This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Ability to work in cooler/freezer (up to -10 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
  • Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all, applicable safety practices.
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift operator's certification within 30 days.

Work Environment Description:
  • Works is in a fully functional warehouse setting that will involve movement (e.g., walking, standing, or otherwise being mobile throughout the warehouse) for regular periods of time.
  • Must be able to gain certification and operate a forklift in a warehouse environment.
