Reporting organisationally to the IPTV/CATV Manager, the Live & VOD Stream Operations Technician will be a key member of the FIFA26 Technology team, and work in close collaboration with the Technology teams based in Canada, Mexico and Zurich and other key individuals responsible for delivering the Live Stream solutions required for the FIFA World Cup 2026 operations.
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Live & VOD Stream Operations Technician for the FIFA World Cup 26 include:
  • Execute live OTT streaming operations for FIFA World Cup 26 matches and press conferences, including stream activation, real-time monitoring and incident escalation.
  • Validate event streaming workflows and ensure service readiness prior to each event.
  • Manage post-event VOD processing, including content extraction, asset validation, metadata verification and publishing to the Media HUB platform.
  • Coordinate with Broadcast, Production, OTT providers and internal Technology teams during live operations.
  • Maintain operational logs, event reports and document incidents and corrective actions.
  • Escalate technical risks or service-impacting issues to the IPTV/CATV Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with FIFA26 Technology governance, operational procedures and change management standards

Education & Qualifications
  • University degree or technical diploma in Information Technology, Media Technology, Broadcast, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Basic understanding of live OTT streaming workflows and VOD asset handling.
  • Familiarity with common streaming formats and protocols (e.g., H.264/H.265, RTMP, HLS).
  • Experience working with OTT platforms, CMS systems, or video publishing tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to support live event operations and perform first-line troubleshooting.
Work Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in OTT streaming, digital media operations, or broadcast environments
  • Experience supporting live streaming operations during events
  • Hands-on experience with live stream activation, monitoring, and post-event VOD publishing
  • Experience working with OTT platforms or content management systems
Languages
  • Fluent in English
  • Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
Technology
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
