Their tasks can include managing schedules, booking appointments, handling correspondence, making travel arrangements, and running errands. Unlike virtual assistants, live personal assistants often work on-site or in-person, allowing for hands-on support and immediate response to various needs. They help streamline daily operations, increase productivity, and allow clients to focus on more important tasks. The role requires excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a live personal assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Live Personal Assistant, you need excellent organizational skills, time management, and multitasking abilities, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant administrative experience. Part-time | Charleston, SC (Avondale area) | $27–$32/hour | W-2

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, highly organized, discreet, and proactive Executive Personal Assistant to provide day-to-day support to the CEO of a local logistics company.

This is a hands-on position that combines personal assistance, household and property support, administrative coordination, errands, and occasional travel assistance. The role supports both a private residence and a nearby 2,000 sq. ft. office building.

The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently, recognize what needs to be done without constant direction, and handle a wide variety of tasks with professionalism and sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day personal and executive support to the company owner
  • Keep the residence and office property clean, organized, and well maintained
  • Handle routine household organization, laundry, and home-related tasks
  • Maintain and clean the home gym and other areas as needed
  • Assist with basic landscaping and outdoor upkeep at both properties
  • Coordinate with maintenance companies, contractors, and other service providers
  • Schedule and follow up on property repairs and service calls
  • Keep office supplies and household necessities stocked
  • Complete grocery shopping, errands, and other personal tasks
  • Assist with vehicle and motorcycle cleaning and general upkeep
  • Organize vehicle-related paperwork, including maintenance, insurance, registration, and tax records
  • Help coordinate personal and business travel, including reservations, packing, and transportation to/from the airport
  • Occasionally provide transportation for the owner or guests
  • Research solutions and take initiative when unexpected day-to-day needs arise
  • Occasionally assist with selling or coordinating the sale of personal items on the owner's behalf
  • Handle other personal, property, or administrative requests as needed, including occasional short-notice assignments
Schedule & Hours
  • Monday–Friday
  • Core working hours are approximately 9:00 AM–1:00 PM*
  • Typically 20–30 hours per week
  • Some flexibility may occasionally be needed depending on the owner's schedule and business needs
  • Occasional last-minute requests are compensated at the regular hourly rate
What We're Looking For
  • Must live in or very near the Avondale / Charleston, SC area
  • Dependable personal vehicle and clean driving record required
  • Highly trustworthy and comfortable handling confidential or private matters
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and prioritize tasks without constant supervision
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills and good judgment
  • Comfortable balancing physical, household, property, and administrative responsibilities
  • Professional, dependable, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed
  • Comfortable working with discretion in a private home and business environment
  • Must be willing to complete a background check, drug screen, and NDA
Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

  • Executive or personal assistance
  • Private household support
  • Property management
  • Hospitality
  • Administrative support
  • Operations or facilities coordination
  • Other roles requiring a high level of trust, organization, and independence

A specific job title or career background is less important than professionalism, reliability, initiative, and strong operational judgment.

Additional Information
  • All necessary tools and supplies will be provided or purchased using a company card.
  • Mileage for approved driving is reimbursed.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay ($27–32/hr)
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Company card for supplies and tools
  • Steady weekday core schedule with flexibility

How to apply

  • Submit a short summary of your relevant experience and current availability.
  • Qualified candidates will be contacted for next steps.

If you're someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in keeping things organized, and can be trusted to handle both routine responsibilities and unexpected requests, we'd love to hear from you!
