What is a live in?

A Live-In job typically refers to a position where an employee resides at their workplace, often in a private household or care facility. Common roles include caregivers, nannies, housekeepers, or companions who provide support and services in exchange for accommodation and salary. Live-In employees usually have scheduled working hours but may also offer on-call assistance as needed. The arrangement allows for a close, continuous level of service while providing the employee with a place to live. Specific duties, compensation, and time off vary depending on the employer's agreement.

What are the typical daily routines and responsibilities for a live in?

A Live In role typically involves a mix of caregiving or household duties, such as assisting with personal care, preparing meals, light housekeeping, and sometimes providing transportation or companionship. Your schedule may vary depending on the needs of the household, but you can expect to be available for tasks throughout the day, with agreed-upon breaks and personal time. Flexibility is important, as routines can change due to medical appointments, school activities, or other family needs. Many Live In positions offer the opportunity to form meaningful connections with those you care for while gaining valuable experience in home management and personal support.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the live in position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Live In (such as a live-in caregiver, nanny, or housekeeper), you need hands-on experience in caregiving, household management, and possibly childcare or eldercare, often with references or relevant training. Familiarity with communication tools (such as mobile devices) and, in some roles, first aid or CPR certifications are commonly required. Compassion, reliability, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills will help you build trust with the household and adapt to varying needs. These abilities are crucial for maintaining a safe, supportive, and smoothly running living environment for the individuals or families you support.

Job description

Solutions Architect (Systems & Storage)

At DataVizion, our Solutions Architect splits time roughly 50/50 between presales solution design and post-sales project implementation. You sit with the client, understand the business problem, architect the systems and storage solution, and then you build it. You own the outcome from whiteboard to go-live. When you tell a client something will work, you're the one who proves it.

Why DataVizion

We're a technology partner our clients trust with the infrastructure their businesses run on. That trust is earned by people who design well, build what they design, and stand behind it. You won't be a cog in a massive org chart. You'll be the technical authority on your engagements, with the autonomy that comes with it.

What Your Days Look Like

Presales (about half your time)

  • Partner with our sales team on client conversations, discovery, and technical qualification
  • Design systems and storage architectures that solve real business problems: compute, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, and cloud
  • Build detailed technical specifications, blueprints, and proposals clients can actually understand
  • Run proof-of-concept testing and make honest recommendations, including "not yet" when that's the right answer
  • Translate technical depth into plain language for non-technical decision makers

Implementation (the other half)

  • Lead the hands-on deployment of the solutions you designed
  • Ensure data flow and interoperability across the full IT ecosystem
  • Build in security from the start: protecting data, systems, and infrastructure is part of the design, not a bolt-on
  • Monitor performance post-deployment and make proactive improvements
  • Keep documentation accurate so the next person (including future you) isn't guessing

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or senior engineer with a systems and storage focus (server infrastructure, virtualization, SAN/NAS storage, backup and DR)
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure
  • Strong working knowledge of security, networking fundamentals, and infrastructure best practices
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects at once without dropping details
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills. You'll be in front of clients constantly, and how you communicate matters as much as what you know

Location

You must live in Nebraska or Iowa. This role involves frequent onsite travel to client sites across the region. It's a relationship business, and we show up in person.

What You'll Get:

  • Flexible work schedule
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Health, Vision, Dental, and Supplemental Insurance Plans
  • HSA (including monthly employer contributions)
  • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account
  • 401k profit-sharing plan
  • Employee Assistance Program Services
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Team celebrations
