Job Description:

Onni Group is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Technician to support several residential properties within our Valley Division (Abbotsford, and Chilliwack).

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing general repairs and maintenance in occupied suites, vacant suites, and building common areas. This role requires someone who is practical, organized, professional with residents, and capable of working independently across multiple properties.

Responsibilities

  • Complete general maintenance and repair work in residential suites and common areas
  • Perform minor plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, caulking, hardware, and finishing repairs
  • Drywall patching, painting, and touch-ups
  • Door, lock, cabinet, and hardware repairs
  • Minor carpentry and finishing work
  • Appliance troubleshooting and basic repairs
  • Caulking, weather stripping, and minor flooring repairs
  • Troubleshoot basic appliance and maintenance issues
  • Assist with suite turnovers and deficiency repairs
  • Respond to work orders in a timely and professional manner
  • Communicate repair status and identify work requiring licensed contractors
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work
  • Follow company safety procedures and property policies
  • Travel between assigned properties as required

Qualifications

  • 2 years of handyman, construction, renovation, or building maintenance experience
  • Broad knowledge of residential repairs and maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs independently
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
  • Own basic tools
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Professional, dependable, and organized
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, and using ladders
  • Experience working in occupied residential buildings is an asset
