About Our Family:

We are a family of five with three daughters, ages 8, 5, and 4. Our household is full of warmth, goofiness, and a sense of humor, but we also value efficiency, professionalism, and discretion when needed. Mom stays at home and manages the kids and home, while also fitting in consulting work and philanthropic activities. Dad works full-time in insurance and travels most days, working from home one day a week.

We live in an older, high-maintenance home that can feel overwhelming at times, especially with three busy kids. As a family, we're seeking to implement more structured systems to regain some balance and ensure that everyone's needs are met. We are striving to create more joy in parenting, while also finding time for ourselves and our commitments. We're looking for someone who can fill in the gaps where one person can't be in two places at once and help the household run more smoothly.

We're looking for someone who can step in and manage the logistics and day-to-day operations of our home. This person would help maintain systems, assist with household organization, and occasionally lend a hand with childcare. We are looking for someone who is flexible, warm, and personable, but who also knows when to be discreet and maintain professionalism, particularly if we're working from home. Ultimately, we're looking for someone who will help bring balance and ease to our home, creating a calm, organized environment where everyone can thrive.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For:

Efficient and Organized: Able to identify tasks before they arise and maintain systems that keep the household running smoothly.

Flexible and Adaptable: Comfortable with shifting priorities and taking on varied responsibilities, including childcare and household management.

Warm and Personable: Able to engage with children in a playful and loving manner while setting healthy boundaries.

Discreet and Professional: Understands the importance of discretion, particularly when working around one parent who may be working from home.

Reliable and Responsible: Dependable in managing both household logistics and childcare needs.

Proactive: Takes initiative in ensuring all areas of the home are organized and well-maintained.

Collaborative: Able to communicate openly and work alongside the family to implement new systems and ideas to improve the home environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesHousehold Organization & Maintenance:
  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys).
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily, ensuring the home is prepped for cleaning services.
  • Monitor household schedules and calendars.
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, dcor, bedding).
  • Prepare guest rooms as needed.
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs and pickups.
  • Support packing and unpacking for travel for the kids.
  • Be available to let in vendors or service providers.
  • Load/unload the dishwasher and vacuum high-traffic areas.
  • Maintain indoor plants.
Inventory & Errands:
  • Track and order toiletries and household supplies (paper products, cleaning products).
  • Run errands: dry cleaning drop-offs and organization, package returns.
  • Unbox packages and break down boxes.
Meal Support:
  • Prepare one baked good, one large salad, fruit and veggie prep, and 1-2 after-school snacks each week.
  • Clean the kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness.
Laundry & Linens:
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels).
  • Iron, steam, and prepare outfits as needed.
  • Flip and refresh four beds weekly.
  • Maintain linens and rotate bedding, restock essentials.
Family Support:
  • Step in to provide childcare during school pick-ups or activities.
  • Backup support for date nights or evening commitments.
  • Conduct a weekly check of kids' backpacks.
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:
  • Maintain and refresh specific zones (e.g., garage, mudroom) weekly.
  • Organize special projects such as clothing swaps, donations, and holiday decorations.

How to Apply:

Please submit:

  • A short letter introducing yourself and explaining why you'd be a great fit.
  • Your updated resume.
  • Three professional references with contact information.
