About the Role
Are you a reliable, community-minded professional looking for a unique opportunity that offers housing and meals? Traditions of Hanover is seeking a dedicated Live-In Manager to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of our senior living residents during non-business hours.
As our Live-In Manager, you will reside on-site and serve as our primary non-medical first responder, giving our residents and their families peace of mind overnight and on weekends.
This role is perfect for someone with a strong customer-service mindset, basic handy-man skills, and a passion for helping seniors.
What We Offer (Compensation & Benefits)
Rent-Free Apartment: A designated, rent-free, one-bedroom apartment located on the ground level, inclusive of all utilities.
Complimentary Meals: Free lunch and dinner provided daily from our kitchen.
Community & Stability: A welcoming, professional environment with a one-year renewable residency agreement.
Key Responsibilities
1. After-Hours Emergency Response
Serve as the primary non-medical first responder for resident calls during designated hours:
o Monday - Friday: 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM
o Saturday & Sunday: All hours (excluding 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
Respond promptly to emergency alerts, pull cords, or resident crises, and coordinate with emergency services or responsible parties as needed.
Assist residents with after-hours needs, including lockouts, minor technical inquiries (e.g., basic cable or phone troubleshooting), and general questions.
2. Security & Building Safety
Conduct nightly security rounds between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM to ensure all exterior
doors and common areas are locked and secure.
Maintain a supportive, alert presence on the grounds to assist the community as needed.
Monitor and enforce community-wide policies, ensuring a safe, smoke-free environment.
3. Light Maintenance Support
Address minor, urgent after-hours maintenance issues to prevent property damage or resident discomfort (e.g., plunging toilets, utilizing a shop vacuum, or mopping up minor
water overflows).
Position Requirements & Qualifications
Professionalism & Conduct: Must maintain a professional, respectful presence while
residing on-site, adhering to a neat appearance and a strict code of conduct (including
smoke-free and drug-free workplace standards).
Discretion & Confidentiality: Absolute commitment to protecting resident privacy, including strict adherence to social media policies regarding resident and property privacy.
Flexibility & Reliability: Ability to provide consistent coverage during designated hours and coordinate time-off requests with the Executive Director well in advance.
Note: If you currently hold another role within our community, maintaining satisfactory performance in that position is required to uphold the residency agreement.
