Job description

Our Transportation Services team is looking for a confident and passionate Traffic Engineer to join our team in the Twin Cities metro. We are looking to add a Traffic Engineer to our team who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities! As a Traffic Engineer, you will work with project managers to lead elements of traffic design including traffic signal and roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, staging and traffic control plans, and will provide geometric design guidance from a traffic perspective. Typical design projects are for State, County, and City clients.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Provide support to transportation and municipal project managers in transportation related design, traffic signal and roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, staging and traffic control plans
  • Develops, coordinates and completes the final design and the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates associated with traffic design work
  • Coordinates the construction administration of signal and traffic management projects
  • Lead standalone traffic studies and contribute to complex corridor studies with cities, counties, and DOTs across our service areas
  • Traffic studies, traffic operations reports, data collection supervision
  • Plans and organizes technical project work assignments
  • Directs & supervises the work of other engineers and technicians
  • Assists with the training and development of professional and technical staff
  • Establishes specialty area of expertise in traffic engineering design
  • Travels periodically to work site and other project related locations

What We Are Looking For:
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering from an accredited college
  • Currently registered as Professional Engineer (P.E.) or able to obtain within six (6) months
  • Generally requires six (6) years of progressive experience or Master's Degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (P.T.O.E.) preferred, not required
  • Thorough knowledge in related software (i.e. Bentley Open Roads Designer, VISSIM, AutoCad Civil 3D, SignCAD, MS Excel and Word)
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Bolton & Menk will currently not be providing visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
Salary Range: $68,000- $120,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
Bolton & Menk is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to specific geographic location.
