Job description

The Racing Maintenance Associate is a hands-on position responsible for the general maintenance and groundskeeping of the racing facility. The role's primary duties include the maintenance of horse barns and the racetrack, as well as the upkeep of the grounds, including an RV park. This position requires someone who is comfortable with a variety of tasks, from mowing and weed eating to equipment and stall repairs. The associate must be able to work in an outdoor environment, handling objects up to 50 lbs., and should be prepared to work in different weather conditions, including heat and cold. 

NOTE: This position is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Please note that a positive drug test result, including for marijuana, may result in a job offer being rescinded for applicants or termination of employment for current employees, even if they possess a valid medical marijuana license.

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of three years of related work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of working with horses is required for this position.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment and a working knowledge of light construction are necessary.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and licensing by the appropriate gaming/racing authority.
  • The ability to work in an outdoor environment with exposure to heat and cold is a must.
  • Knowledge of basic construction and repair techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. 
  • Perform routine maintenance on horse barns, the racetrack, and all grounds, including the RV park.
  • Execute groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, weed eating, and waste removal.

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment at all times.
