The Medical Transport Specialist (MTS) provides non-emergency medical transportation

(NEMT) services, ensuring safe and comfortable transport for patients and students.. We call this role the "Medical Transport Specialist" (MTS), but to others in our industry, it might be called "driver" or even "transporter". What our MTS' do is not just drive, but provide extended, professional services for our passengers from initial greeting to drop-off, and they do this by building relationships with the passengers and having compassion with giving them the most positive transport experience ever. The MTS is a crucial role to the team, and you are the person who completes the difference we are trying to make. Don't worry, medical experience is not necessary. We have a complete PAID training program.

Here's how it works. The moment our Dispatch team successfully books a transport assuring the passenger/caretaker the best service on this planet, you are the first to arrive on the scene. This is when you take over. You'll get to know them, assess the situation, you'll understand their specific preferences, and you'll make sure as we bring them to their destination, that we've done our best to serve them, exceeding their expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients and students with boarding and disembarking using appropriate safety equipment and techniques
  • Communicate effectively with hospital staff, school personnel, co-workers, and dispatch
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of van equipment
  • Document and report transportation details in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations
  • Ensure a secure and comfortable environment for all passengers, adhering to safety regulations

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record (for drivers)
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or to be obtained within 2 months of employment)
  • Proficient in English, both verbal and written; bilingual skills are an asset
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring walking, standing, and bending
  • Assist with lateral transfers of patients from bed to gurney
  • Operate powered stair chair for patient transport
  • Physical capacity to handle occasional lifting of up to 280 lbs with assistance
  • Adequate hearing and vision (with corrective lenses if needed)
  • Availability to start 3PM 

Pay Rate:

  • Driver Position for PM Part time Shift: $23 /hour
