POSITION DESCRIPTION:
At the direction, or in the absence of the Security Shift Manager, direct Security Officers and Security System Operators in providing customer services and physical protection and minimizing liability for the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort (WCR), Eagle View RV Resort, We-Ko-Pa Golf Club, Fort McDowell Yavapai Materials and other designated Fort McDowell Enterprises.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Patrol and direct the patrol of WCR and other designated FM Enterprise facilities and grounds for the purpose of detecting and preventing the occurrence of crimes and other security-related incidents, conduct and direct preliminary investigations of reported or detected crimes and other security-related incidents occurring on WCR and other designated FM Enterprise facilities property.
Ensure that all uniform Security personnel within his/her area of responsibility are knowledgeable of and comply with the Tribal Gaming Ordinance, the appendices of the Ordinance, WCR policies, and Security Department policies and procedures.
Provide Security escort service as requested, or as required by WCR or Security Department policies.
Coordinate and cooperate with other WCR and FM Enterprise managers and employees, and local emergency services concerning incidents occurring on WCR and other FM Enterprise properties.
Monitor and operate as necessary, the Security Operations Center communications, alarm and security systems.
At the direction, or in the absence of the Security Shift Manager, inspect Security Department vehicles and equipment during the assigned shift for the purpose of ensuring their proper upkeep and maintenance.
Contribute to the regular evaluation of employees assigned to the shift by coordinating with the Security Shift Manager concerning employee evaluations and documenting recommendations for disciplinary action when necessary.
At the direction, or in the absence of the Security Shift Manager, review Security Department documentation submitted by uniform Security personnel for completeness and accuracy, and direct necessary corrections.
Ensure that the Security shift is adequately staffed.
Ensure that appropriate notifications concerning incidents are made as necessary.
Ensure that uniform Security personnel properly use the computerized timekeeping system, and directly supervise security services provided for special events as necessary.
Perform any other duties as directed by Security Department management.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, and to make logical decisions in situations requiring tact and discretion.
Ability to exercise sound leadership skills.
Good organization and communication skills.
Proficiency in radio, telephone, verbal and written communications is required.
Able to interact and assist effectively with members of the public and FM Enterprise employees and management.
Able and willing to work any shift and hours as assigned by the Security Department or Casino management, or as necessitated by special circumstances.
Must possess a current, valid Arizona driver's license and have the ability to legally and safely operate a motorized vehicle.
Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds and push or pull 100.
Must be able to obtain and maintain State/Tribal License (including extensive background check).
Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Must be 21 or older.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Walk, stand, hear, and see for 67-100% of the workday.
  • Eye/hand coordination and wrist motion for 67-100% of the workday.
  • Bend, reach, climb stairs and sit for 1-33% of the workday.
  • While working on the casino floor, the employee is exposed to high levels of secondhand smoke and noise daily.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required. A minimum of two years' experience in civilian or military law enforcement or corrections, or in a similar position in a comparable industrial security setting is required. Preference is commensurate with the level of experience.
INDIAN PREFERENCE:
Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are members of federally recognized Indian tribes. To be considered for Indian Preference, you must submit your Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) with your application.
