Key Responsibilities

Technical Coaching: Instruct campers in the fundamentals of rowing, including proper body mechanics, blade work, and timing.

Equipment Care: Oversight of our rowing fleet; ensuring boats, oars, and docks are handled with care and maintained in top condition.

Water Safety: Prioritize safety at all times, teaching campers how to safely launch, navigate the lake, and recover in the event of a capsize.

Lodge Leadership: Live in a lodge with a group of campers, acting as a mentor and creating a warm, inclusive "home away from home" environment.

What We’re Looking For

Rowing Experience: Previous experience in competitive, recreational rowing, or past summer camp experience.

Communication Skills: The ability to explain complex movements in a way that is easy for children to understand and master.

Certifications: Current Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain them).

Positive Energy: A patient coach who celebrates every small victory on the water.

Why Join Us?

Experience the "Arcadia Spirit" firsthand. You’ll spend your mornings on the calm waters of Pleasant Lake and your evenings making a lasting impact on your lodge community. Room, board, and laundry are all included in your summer contract!

Dates: If you would like to take our lifeguard course, June 7. Otherwise start date is June 12. End date is August 10 with the option to extend to August 28.
