What is a live in resort job?

Live-in resort jobs are positions at resorts where employees are provided with on-site accommodation as part of their employment. These roles can range from housekeeping and food service to entertainment and front desk positions. The main benefit is that staff do not need to commute and can immerse themselves in the resort environment, often in beautiful or remote locations. Live-in resort jobs can be seasonal or year-round and may include meals, utilities, and other perks. Such positions are popular with people seeking adventure, travel, or a unique work experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a live in resort manager, and why are they important?

To excel as a Live-In Resort Manager, you need strong hospitality management knowledge, operational expertise, and prior experience in hotel or resort environments. Familiarity with property management systems, booking platforms, and relevant certifications such as hospitality management degrees are typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability are crucial for handling guests' needs and leading staff effectively. These competencies ensure smooth resort operations, guest satisfaction, and high service standards in a dynamic environment.

What are some unique challenges faced by employees in live in resort positions, and how can they best prepare for them?

Employees in live-in resort roles often experience challenges such as maintaining a healthy work-life balance and adapting to a communal living environment. Since the workplace and living quarters are typically on the same property, it can be difficult to set boundaries between personal time and work responsibilities. Additionally, employees may need to adjust to sharing accommodations with colleagues and working variable shifts, including weekends and holidays. To prepare, job seekers should be open to flexible schedules, embrace teamwork, and develop strong communication skills to foster positive relationships in shared living and working spaces.

What is the difference between Live In Resort vs Housekeeper?

Location: Lehi, UT; On-Site Position
About Reef:
Reef is a Utah-based vertically integrated investment and development firm founded in 2005. Reef's team is currently involved in some of the most prominent development transactions in Utah and other targeted geographies across the United States.
Built on two decades of success, our investment approach combines proven expertise with purposeful innovation. Reef's team has completed more than 500 transactions across all lines of business. In addition to our real estate investment strategy, Reef and/or affiliates own and operate various businesses that add significant long-term value to its projects. We have grown rapidly, growing from about 25 employees to well over 400, with managed assets on behalf of over 750 institutional and individual partners worldwide.
With the motto "Expect the Best," Reef's most prominent developments include Black Desert Resort, a $2 billion luxury resort in Ivins, Utah; Marcella, a luxury private golf community in Park City, Utah; Tributer Resort, Virginia's newest premier private lakeside golf destination; Cornerstone Club, a 5,000-acre residential community, private club, and resort in Telluride, Colorado; Sweetens Cove, a renowned and evolving golf destination nestled in the Tennessee Valley; and the restoration of the historic Coco Palms Resort in Wailua, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
Our culture is defined by a shared set of principles that guide how we think, collaborate, make decisions, and pursue success together. This mindset serves as the foundation for the five principles that define how we work together: first, we are One Reef, always prioritizing the success of the whole over individual agendas; we speak candidly and respond collaboratively; we move in solidarity once a decision is made; we take full accountability for outcomes in our domain; and we refuse to settle for anything less than extraordinary. • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Familiarity with JV legal structures and terms
  • Excellent written communication skills; comfortable producing IC-ready materials
  • Ability to manage multiple live deals and existing JV relationships simultaneously
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally

Company Benefits:
  • 401(k) Plan with Company Match
