What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Live-In Resort Manager, and why are they important?

To excel as a Live-In Resort Manager, you need strong hospitality management knowledge, operational expertise, and prior experience in hotel or resort environments. Familiarity with property management systems, booking platforms, and relevant certifications such as hospitality management degrees are typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability are crucial for handling guests' needs and leading staff effectively. These competencies ensure smooth resort operations, guest satisfaction, and high service standards in a dynamic environment.

What are some unique challenges faced by employees in live-in resort positions, and how can they best prepare for them?

Employees in live-in resort roles often experience challenges such as maintaining a healthy work-life balance and adapting to a communal living environment. Since the workplace and living quarters are typically on the same property, it can be difficult to set boundaries between personal time and work responsibilities. Additionally, employees may need to adjust to sharing accommodations with colleagues and working variable shifts, including weekends and holidays. To prepare, job seekers should be open to flexible schedules, embrace teamwork, and develop strong communication skills to foster positive relationships in shared living and working spaces.

While both roles require cleaning skills and hospitality experience, Live In Resort staff are integrated into the resort's guest services, whereas housekeepers typically work in private or hotel settings without resort-specific duties.

What are live-in resort jobs?

Description

About PW Companies

Cariloha is our biggest brand and is an omni-channel brand specializing in luxuriously soft, sustainable bedding, bath, and apparel made from bamboo viscose. Rooted in comfort and conscious living, we blend Caribbean style with the spirit of Aloha to deliver elevated everyday essentials.

This role will also support two sister brands: Del Sol, our color-changing apparel brand known for its Spectrachrome technology and presence in top vacation destinations, and Island Cruz, our electric vehicle brand for beach and resort cruising.

Role Overview

This position combines social media operations and live commerce into a single, dynamic role. You'll own the day-to-day management of Cariloha's social media presence while also producing and executing live selling events on platforms like TikTok Shop, Whatnot, and Amazon Live.

You report directly to the Director of Social Media & Content, who oversees content strategy, high-end asset creation, and overall brand direction across social channels. Your lane is execution: keeping the feeds active and engaging, the community warm, the live events running smoothly, and the data flowing.

This is not a strategy role - it's an operator role. We're looking for someone who is organized, platform-savvy, comfortable on camera when needed, and energized by the pace of social and live commerce.

What You'll Own

1. Social Media Management (Primary Focus)

Own day-to-day posting, scheduling, and content calendar management across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and emerging platforms

Manage community engagement: responding to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely, on-brand voice

Monitor trends, platform updates, competitive activity and audience behavior to keep content relevant and timely

Coordinate with the Director to execute campaign rollouts and seasonal content pushes

Pull and report on social performance analytics (reach, engagement, follower growth, saves, shares) on a regular cadence

Support content creation for social - including short-form video, product lifestyle content, and reactive/trending formats

2. Live Commerce Production & Execution

Plan, produce, and run live selling events on TikTok Shop, Whatnot, Amazon Live, and similar platforms

Manage all technical setup: cameras, lighting, audio, and live feed management

Develop and execute run-of-show documents including product sequencing, promotional timing, and audience engagement tactics

Support Creators that are brought in with their live selling events through brand onboarding, live selling script and promo logistics as it pertains to the shopfront

Track and report live commerce performance metrics including GMV, conversion rate, average order value, and viewer retention

Identify high-performing live formats and contribute to a repeatable playbook for future sessions

Serve as an on-camera host or support host talent when needed

3. Analytics & Reporting

Pull weekly/monthly performance reports across social channels and live events

Surface insights and optimization opportunities to the Director of Social Media & Content

Maintain organized dashboards or trackers for posting cadence, engagement trends, and live commerce results

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Creative, E-commerce, and Paid Media teams to align social and live

content with product launches and campaigns

Coordinate with creators and brand partners on collaborative content and live

opportunities

Coordinate with internship team on Marketing Track and developing social content

Support campaign shoots and brand activations as an on-camera contributor or behind-

the-scenes operator

Requirements

What Success Looks Like

Social channels are consistently active, engaging, and growing

Community is well-managed - comments and DMs get thoughtful, timely responses

Live events run smoothly from a technical and production standpoint, with improving GMV over time

Analytics are organized and delivered on schedule, with clear takeaways

The Director of Social Media & Content has a reliable execution partner they can trust to run the day-to-day

Requirements

You Bring

2-4 years of experience in social media management, live commerce production, or a combination of both

Hands-on experience with at least one live commerce platform (TikTok Shop, Whatnot, Amazon Live, or similar)

Strong working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and short-form video best practices

Experience with social media scheduling tools (Later, Sprout Social, Planoly, or similar)

Comfort managing community engagement at volume - you know how to keep a comment section warm and on-brand

Proficiency with analytics tools native to social platforms, plus the ability to translate data into clear reports

Hands-on experience with live production setup: cameras, lighting, audio, and troubleshooting on the fly

Comfortable appearing on camera for live sessions or light content creation when needed

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused - you don't drop balls

Strong written communication with a feel for brand voice and audience tone

Bonus Points

Experience with TikTok Shop specifically, including affiliate tools and GMV tracking

Background in Whatnot or Amazon Live selling environments

Familiarity with CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or other short-form editing tools

Experience working with or alongside a creator network

Existing instincts for what converts in social commerce vs. what just looks good

Compensation & Benefits

Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance

401(k) with company match

Paid time off (PTO)

Flexible scheduling

Gym membership options

Employee recognition programs, including monetary rewards and annual "Live Your Dream" awards

Generous employee product discounts and annual product giveaways

Company events, catered meals, and a fully stocked kitchen

Annual one-on-one financial consulting
