Position Overview

Larson Counseling Center is actively seeking a Full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative telehealth team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health assessments, individualized treatment plans, and therapeutic interventions through online platforms.

Work Environment

As a remote workforce, employees at Larson Counseling Center benefit from the flexibility of a telehealth setting. Our work hours typically run Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, though some flexibility in scheduling may be necessary to accommodate appointments and urgent patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-depth mental health assessments that are cognizant of cultural diversity, ensuring an understanding of each patient’s unique perspective and background.
  • Design and implement tailored therapeutic interventions employing evidence-based practices that resonate with patients' personal and cultural contexts.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing a variety of mental health issues and enhancing coping strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, coordinated care.
  • Provide crisis intervention services to offer immediate support during mental health emergencies.
  • Educate clients and families regarding mental health disorders, available treatments, and relevant community resources to foster awareness and promote recovery.
  • Ensure all patient records are kept confidential and comply with ethical standards and legal requirements through precise documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care strategies and staff training focused on cultural competence.
  • Stay current with the latest research, cultural insights, and best practices in mental health therapy to continually improve service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT within the state of Illinois.
  • A thorough understanding of mental health disorders and contemporary treatment methods, particularly in relation to cultural competence.
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy in a culturally responsive manner.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills, with a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities conducive to building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications involved in clinical documentation.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding professional integrity.

  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and methodologies or willingness to undergo training in remote health care delivery.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, contingent upon experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer:
