Job description

This position is responsible for the administration of the Reiki volunteer program and the delivery of Reiki services to patients, families, and staff. The role also supports the development and implementation of additional wellness and integrative volunteer offerings within Volunteer Services, and provides cross-program operational support based on departmental needs.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and administers the Reiki volunteer program, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, supervision, and ongoing support of Reiki volunteers.  

  • Serves as an active Reiki practitioner, providing sessions to patients, families, and staff in alignment with program operations.  

  • Supports development and coordination of wellness programming, including employee offerings such as “Relax and Reset,” and assists in designing new wellness-focused volunteer initiatives as needed.  

  • Leads Reiki volunteer engagement and retention efforts, including orientations, trainings, recognition events, gatherings, and retreats to foster a connected and supported volunteer community.  

  • Maintains volunteer records and database systems; tracks participation, utilization, and program activity; and supports reporting and data analysis for operational and accreditation purposes.  

  • Evaluates Reiki and other wellness volunteer programming through feedback and outcome tracking; recommends and implements improvements to strengthen program quality and engagement.  

  • Develops and distributes Reiki and other wellness program communications and marketing materials for internal and external audiences.  

  • Participates in community events and partnerships to promote awareness of Reiki services and wellness initiatives.  

  • Participates in internal and external committees and workgroups related to patient and staff wellness, integrative therapies, cancer care, and survivorship programming.  

  • Provides operational and administrative support to Volunteer Services, including project coordination, event support, cross-coverage, and other departmental needs to ensure continuity of operations. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Reiki Master certification required.  

  • Experience providing Reiki services in a healthcare, clinical, or community setting preferred.  

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, program support, or related administrative roles preferred.  

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage scheduling, records, and program logistics.  

  • Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, staff, patients, and community partners. 

  • Proficiency with basic data systems and reporting tools preferred.  

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years related work experience required, including 3 or more years of progressively responsible experience in business administration, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Written Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.

Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.

Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.

Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.

Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

Pay Range:

$48,000.00 USD - $72,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
