Job description

IRG PHYSICAL amp; HAND THERAPY IS GROWING AND LOOKING FOR A CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER (ATC) TO FILL AN EXCITING ROLE!

THE POSITION:
This position provides injury prevention and physical assessments to athletes on site. The Athletic Trainer will work in conjunction with a physical therapist in all aspects of treatment, reconditioning, and prevention as set forth by the NATA Board of Certification. Candidate must exercise independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize the workload required to complete the work assigned. Candidate will recommend changes in office practices and procedures as necessitated by business needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing and fitting of support or athletic equipment.
  • Perform prevention assessments, treatment, and reconditioning.
  • Carry out all prescribed treatments and recommendations from the patientโ€™s physician.
  • Provide referrals to specific physicians and other IRG and allied health professionals including, but not limited to: physical therapy, sports nutrition, sports performance, and massage therapy.
  • Assist with staff and physician liaisons, including the development and implementation of policies in relation to the care of our student athletes.
  • Compile injury and treatment statistics for program for assigned sports in database.
  • Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning, nutrition, wellness, physical therapy, and team physicians to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, preventative programs and conditioning programs customized to meet individual needs where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • One year as a certified athletic trainer, setting preferred at a high school or college level.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in athletic training or related field. In process and/or eligible for becoming licensed in Washington State.
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainersโ€™ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • Ability to work under pressure, has time management skills, and can multitask.
  • Ability to work weekends, nights, and nontraditional work hours.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work for extended periods of time at a video display terminal and will be required to use a keyboard to enter and gather information.
  • Physical activity including but not limited to bending, reaching, squatting, lifting and prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Required to work at the IRG clinic and be responsible for your own transportation to and from work site.
PAY amp; BENEFITS INFORMATION:
  • Base salary: $30-$32.50 per hour depending on experience.
