Job Title: Laborer
Reports To: Field Supervisor

Pay Range: $20.00 -$26.00 DOE

Spriggs Excavation is recruiting for a full-time, 100% travel position. This role requires continuous travel to project sites across multiple states based on business needs and project schedules. Employees in this position should expect to be assigned to one location for an extended period-such as several months at a time-before transitioning to another project in a different state. For example, an assignment may begin in Texas, then move to Colorado, and later transition to New Mexico. Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to work wherever projects are located are essential requirements of this role.

Job Summary

The Laborer performs a variety of physical tasks to support skilled workers and overall project operations on construction sites. This role involves assisting with material handling, site preparation, cleanup, and other activities essential to maintaining efficient and safe jobsite operations.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled trades personnel as directed; duties may include demolition, material handling, or general construction support.
  • Unload, transport, and distribute materials to designated locations as directed by the supervisor, project plans, or specifications.
  • Prepare work areas by accurately measuring, marking, or recording openings and distances.
  • Clean and prepare assigned jobsite areas, including digging trenches, removing debris, and ensuring the site is safe and organized.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Direct and control traffic around work zones to ensure safety.
  • Signal equipment operators to guide alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
  • Maintain jobsite cleanliness at the end of each day by properly disposing of trash and safely storing tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push or pull loads up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours per day and climb multiple flights of stairs while carrying materials weighing 40-60 pounds.
  • Availability to work weekends and nights as required by project needs.
