The care taker will be responsible for continuous upkeep, upgrades and maintenance of the Odessa College Rodeo Ranch - Graham Center - ensuring and sustaining the high standards of Odessa College , the ranch and the rodeo team. Duties and work will include: -Maintenance and upkeep of ranch buildings, barns, fences, and equipment - painting, janitorial -Maintenance and upkeep of pastures, paddocks, pens, and other outdoor areas -Raking, cleaning, irrigation, irrigation equipment maintenance, and tree cutting -Maintenance of Graham Center vehicles and equipment with assistance from the college motor pool -Maintenance of arena grounds for practices, jackpots, and schools -Disking, watering, and dragging for daily practices -Preparation of fields for spring and fall planting, plant pastures, and fertilize -Cut and bale all of the hay on the Graham Center on a schedule agreed upon with the ranch manager -Transport hay from fields to barn after cutting and bailing -Observe livestock for illness or injury and report any abnormalities to Physical Plant and/or veterinarian -Supervise and conduct feeding of all livestock. -Must be available for feeding duties when the rodeo team is out of town for NIRA competitions -Maintenance of livestock watering equipment in good working order and ensure that all livestock are provided with water at all times -Other duties as assigned.
