Job description

Chief Of Vascular And Interventional Radiology

USA Health is transforming medicine along the Gulf Coast to care for the unique needs of our community. Our team of doctors, advanced care providers, nurses, therapists and researchers provide the region's most advanced medicine at multiple facilities, campuses, clinics and classrooms. We offer patients convenient access to innovative treatments and advancements that improve the health and overall wellbeing of our community.

The Department of Radiology at the University of South Alabama Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine and USA Health are currently recruiting for Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. The Division of Interventional Radiology serves USA Health University Hospital, USA Health Children's and Women's Hospital, USA Health Providence Hospital and the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute. The three hospitals are licensed for over 700 beds combined and include a Level I trauma center.

The successful candidate must have fellowship training in IR and must be Board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology. A license to practice medicine in Alabama is required. Academic rank will be commensurate with training and experience.

Responsibilities include clinical coverage of the angiography/interventional radiology service, instruction of medical students and residents in diagnostic radiology, angiography and interventional radiology, and the pursuit of academic interests and research. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience. We perform all aspects of IR including spinal augmentation, women's health, hepatobiliary disease, trauma, dialysis access maintenance, vascular disease and interventional oncology. We have just started a histotripsy program for liver tumors.
