Organization Overview:

Vivo for Healthier Generations is a charity with a profound purpose to ignite a mindset to LIVE for healthier generations. Our Collaboratory applies practices in social innovation to co-create and measure new kinds of healthy living solutions and our Centre is an inclusive environment for healthy lifestyles. Together, we create meaningful impact and change with individuals, our community and for the planet.

Schedule: Flexible availability, with required availability on Wednesday and Thursday preferred. This schedule will start in the Fall.

Wednesday - between 4:45 to 7:30 pm

Thursday - between 4:00 to 7:30 pm


Reports to: Sport Program Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct group and private ice skating lessons for various age groups and skill levels

Create lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of each student

Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students improve their skating abilities

Promote a safe and positive learning environment, emphasizing proper techniques and safety precautions

Monitor and assess the progress of each student, adjusting instruction as necessary

Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with students, parents, and staff

Ownership of instruction, lesson set-up, lesson plan implementation, attendance taking, and use of equipment and teaching aids

Qualifications:

Proficient ice skating skills and a strong understanding of skating techniques

Current Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR-C/AED certifications

A valid Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sectors Search completed within the past 2 months upon hire

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Patient, encouraging, and able to motivate students of all ages

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
