Position Summary:
CNAs are an integral part of the ESRW team. They help with training/nursing care for personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides guidance to promote physical, communication, and social/emotional development and functional independence for self-care
  • Provides personal assistance for personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living based on individualized care plans
  • Supports efforts to reinforce, instruct, and train parents/guardians/other caregivers regarding the adult's care needs.
  • Expands the range of experience for adults through opportunities for full/partial participation in personal care activities/daily routines.
  • Sets up and teaches adults how to use assistive/adaptive technology to perform personal care tasks.
  • Engages adults in appropriate physical activity to build strength, endurance, and range of motion.
  • Shapes the development of social/emotional skills by encouraging communication with others, modeling positive social skills, redirecting, implementing established behavior management programs as directed, and purposefully mentoring the development of personal responsibility.
  • Observes the health status of adults throughout the day. Ensures adults exhibiting signs of illness or injury have access to prompt nursing/medical attention from the onsite nursing department.
  • Communicates pertinent information regarding each adult's care and wellbeing to the team leads, program manager and director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Qualifications:
  • A High School diploma or GED
  • Certification as a nursing assistant (for CNA's only)
  • One-year experience providing services to adults with disabilities preferred.
