Overview

The Parking Lot Attendant for OVG Lexington plays a critical frontline role in ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused parking operations at Rupp/CBC and Soccer during events, daily operations, and special functions. This position is responsible for managing traffic flow, directing patrons to designated parking areas, and providing clear, courteous assistance to guests while maintaining a safe and orderly parking environment. Parking Lot Attendants serve as ambassadors for OVG-LEX, often being the first and last point of contact for guests. Parking Lot Attendants are expected to operate assigned equipment, including traffic control devices and handheld tools, in accordance with established procedures and safety standards. Attention to detail and accountability are essential, as equipment use and condition may be tracked to ensure operational readiness. In addition to traffic and parking control, Parking Lot Attendants are responsible for monitoring parking areas for safety hazards, policy compliance, and accessibility needs. This includes ensuring accessible parking spaces and pedestrian pathways remain clear and usable, particularly during high-volume events or inclement weather. Attendants may also assist with basic incident reporting, communicate issues to supervisors or management, and follow established protocols for emergencies, accidents, or guest concerns. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for this role, as Parking Lot Attendants regularly interact with a diverse range of guests, coworkers, law enforcement, and event staff. The position requires the ability to remain professional, calm, and adaptable in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while working outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions. Overall, the Parking Attendant position is vital to the smooth operation, safety, and guest experience of our events, requiring reliability, professionalism, situational awareness, and a commitment to teamwork and service excellence.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00

Responsibilities
  • Direct vehicles safely and efficiently in and around designated parking areas
  • Manage traffic flow during event ingress and egress to minimize congestion and ensure safety
  • Provide courteous, accurate information and assistance to guests, including directions, accessibility support, and general event parking inquiries
  • Operate and properly maintain assigned parking and traffic control equipment (e.g., traffic wands, cones, signage)
  • Maintain accountability for issued equipment and report any damage, loss, or malfunction promptly
  • Monitor parking areas for safety hazards, policy compliance, and proper use of designated spaces, including accessible parking
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of parking operations before and after events
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, accidents, or guest concerns and follow established reporting and escalation procedures
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other event or security personnel
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing each venue in a positive manner

  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to give clear directions and instructions in high-traffic environments
