Familiarity with electronic health records, patient monitoring equipment, and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification are typically required. These skills and qualifications are vital for delivering safe, effective care and ensuring smooth patient transitions after surgery.

What is a Live In Outpatient PACU RN?

A Live In Outpatient PACU RN is a Registered Nurse who provides care to patients recovering from anesthesia after outpatient (same-day) surgical procedures in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). They monitor patients' vital signs, manage pain, and ensure patients are stable before discharge. The term 'live in' may refer to on-site housing arrangements or extended shifts, but typically, these nurses work in hospitals, surgical centers, or outpatient clinics. Their role is critical for patient safety during the immediate post-operative period.
