Job description

A warm, welcoming family in Rye, NY is seeking an experienced Weekend Live-In Nanny to join their household ASAP. Their longtime weekend nanny will be retiring this summer, and the family is hoping to find a replacement as soon as possible to allow for a thoughtful transition and overlap.

This is a dynamic, fast-paced household with three active children (10, 8, and 5) and full weekend schedules. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and confident managing multiple moving parts while collaborating closely with the family and Personal Assistant.

The youngest child (boy) is on the autism spectrum. He is verbal, potty trained, and very personable. Experience working with children with special needs or a background in special education is strongly preferred. The family is looking for someone patient and proactive, who is willing to learn and coordinate with the broader team to consistently implement strategies that best support his development and emotional regulation while also being attentive to the two older children (girls).

Schedule: Friday 5:00 PM – Sunday 8:00 PM (live-in, own bedroom and bathroom provided)

  • Nanny may depart Sunday evening after youngest is settled for bed (~8:00 PM)
  • Family is kind, collaborative, and values long-term relationships with staff
  • Opportunity for overlap and training with current longtime nanny

  • Provide attentive, engaging care for all three children
  • Support the youngest child’s developmental and educational needs
  • Maintain structure, routines, and clear boundaries in a calm, supportive manner
  • Navigate busy weekend schedules including sports, activities, and social events
  • Collaborate with parents, weekday nanny, and outside consultant supporting five year old.
  • Manage and coordinate weekend schedules in partnership with the family’s PA
  • Safely drive children to/from activities (vehicle provided)
  • Travel-ready mindset and ability to adapt to changing plans
  • Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children
  • Tidy up after children and maintain organization of their spaces
Note: Full-Time Housekeeper manages deep cleaning and laundry during the week

  • Experience working with multiple children
  • Experience with special needs (autism) strongly preferred OR a background in education
  • Highly organized and able to manage complex, active schedules
  • Warm, patient, and able to provide structure without creating stress
  • Team player with excellent communication skills

  • At least 5 years of professional childcare or nanny experience
  • High executive function, organized and able to multitask in a busy household
  • Calm, even-tempered and able to work well under pressure and independently
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (use of family car)
  • Valid passport

Compensation:

  • $650/day (Approx. $1,300–$1,550 per weekend)

Benefits:

  • The following paid holidays (when fall on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday): New Year’s Day, July 4th, Christmas Day
