This arrangement allows for more convenient and personalized care, often catering to individuals with specific therapeutic needs, such as athletes, elderly clients, or those recovering from injuries. In addition to massage treatments, the therapist may also support wellness routines, stretching exercises, or relaxation techniques. The role typically involves a structured schedule, privacy agreements, and potential flexibility in duties based on the client's lifestyle and health requirements.

What does a typical workday look like for a live in massage therapist?

A typical day for a Live In Massage Therapist involves preparing treatment spaces, providing scheduled massage sessions tailored to clients’ needs, and performing light administrative or wellness duties as arranged with the household. You may also be responsible for creating personalized wellness plans, maintaining inventory of massage supplies, and adhering to a flexible schedule based on the client's preferences. While your primary focus is massage therapy, you’ll often collaborate with other household staff or family members to coordinate wellness routines. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop close working relationships with clients, and successfully managing boundaries and expectations is key to long-term success.

Job description

Job description
Chris Scott Wellness currently employs a team of Physical Therapists and Massage Therapists at our established wellness practice in Loves Park, Illinois. We are seeking another Licensed Massage Therapist to join our team.
As a Medical Massage Therapist & Myofascial Therapist, you will be expected to address patients' unique needs which may include a variety of orthopedic conditions as well as assist our Physical Therapist in providing skilled manual therapy following each PT session. All therapists are expected to complete clinical documentation in a timely manner following each session.
An ideal candidate will already possess a passion for the therapeutic/ medical aspects of massage therapy as well as a desire to work in a clinical setting.
Therapists are scheduled in one of two settings:
1) Private Sessions
Patients come to our clinic either seeking a soothing massage (similar to any other massage clinic), skilled myofascial therapy to address a particular orthopedic condition as recommended by their physician, or as a follow-up recommendation upon completion of their physical therapy at this clinic. Through our strong marketing, physician referral networks, and internal referrals-massage therapists at our clinic generally build their own client base fairly quickly.
2) Therapy Floor
Most patients see a Massage Therapist during part of their therapy plan, as directed by one of our PTs. When working on the therapy floor, a massage therapist will be assigned to one PT through the duration of their shift. They will consult with the PT following their session before taking a patient to begin their skilled myofascial or medical massage work. After the session, the massage therapist will provide documentation with feedback on how the session went.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be licensed in Massage Therapy from the State of Illinois
- Be reliable and have a professional attitude
- Must have experience with documentation or willingness to learn.
Pay is based on experience and skill level. Hours are flexible, however the greatest need is filling a late-afternoon/ evening shift.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $28.00 per hour
