Live-in maintenance workers are employees who reside on the property they are responsible for maintaining. Their primary duties include performing repairs, conducting regular inspections, and responding to maintenance requests from tenants or property owners. By living on-site, they can address emergencies quickly and help ensure the property remains in good condition. This arrangement often includes a reduced or free rent as part of their compensation. Live-in maintenance roles are common in apartment complexes, hotels, and large residential buildings.

What are some common challenges faced by live in maintenance professionals, and how are they typically addressed?

Live In Maintenance professionals often face the challenge of being on-call outside of regular working hours, as urgent repairs or emergencies can arise at any time. Balancing personal time with work responsibilities requires good time management and clear communication with property management. To address these challenges, many organizations establish structured on-call rotations and provide clear guidelines for handling after-hours requests, ensuring workloads are manageable and expectations are clear. Building strong relationships with residents and team members also helps create a supportive environment.

We're growing our live commerce presence on TikTok and looking for engaging, on-camera hosts to bring our products to life for viewers in real time, as well as film TikTok's, Instagram Reels, and Short/Long form content for the company.

About the Role

We're building a small rotating team of TikTok Live Hosts and actors to run daily live shopping streams from our studio, and film social media content. Hosts will demonstrate RYSE products, answer viewer questions in real time, and drive engagement and sales during each session.

We're starting with paid, in-studio tryout sessions to find the right hosts, then settling into an ongoing rotation (currently targeting two hosts alternating days) so RYSE goes live every day.

Hiring Process

  • Tryout session: candidates come into the studio for a paid 2-hour live session, hosted solo or alongside our team, to see how they perform on camera and with a live audience
  • Compensation for tryout: paid hourly for the 2-hour session, regardless of outcome
  • Ongoing role: selected hosts join a rotating weekly schedule to cover a daily TikTok Live slot

Responsibilities

  • Host TikTok Live sessions from our studio, showcasing RYSE smart shades and accessories
  • Demonstrate product features and installation in an engaging, easy-to-follow way
  • Interact with live viewers, answer questions, and respond to comments in real time
  • Drive viewer engagement through energy, storytelling, and calls to action
  • Maintain a clean, on-brand studio setup and follow content guidelines
  • Act in social media content including TikToks, Instagram Reels, YouTube

Requirements

  • Prior experience in acting, live streaming, hosting, or on-camera presenting (social media content, TikTok Live, QVC-style commerce, or similar preferred)
  • Comfortable speaking on camera for extended periods with high energy
  • Strong communication skills and quick thinking to handle live audience questions
  • Interest in home tech, smart home, or DIY products is a plus
  • Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent rotating schedule
  • Familiarity with TikTok's platform, trends, and live shopping features

How to Apply

  • Submit a short video clip or reel demonstrating your on-camera presence and energy
  • Include your resume

Benefits

  • Ongoing hours: Rotating daily schedule, hours TBD based on live slot length.
  • Compensation: $50 Hourly
