Job description

The IT Sr. SharePoint & M365 Developer supports, designs, and enhances the organization's SharePoint Online, Power Platform, broader M365 tools, and business apps. This role assists in building modern collaboration solutions, automations, and integrations that enhance business productivity and support. The position works with crossfunctional teams to improve workflows, support existing applications, and contribute to emerging initiatives around data automation, system integration, and operational efficiency.

Note: There is one position available, and this position will be filled at one of four job grade levels: SharePoint and M365 Developer I, job grade 6; SharePoint and M365 Developer II, job grade 7; SharePoint and M365 Developer III, job grade 9 or Senior SharePoint and M365 Developer, job grade 10. This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Extensive experience in SharePoint Online administration and development.
  • Strong experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, or similar lowcode tools.
  • Working technical knowledge of programming languages, databases, operating systems and security.
  • Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding new technologies.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written with ability to explain complex issues in clear, concise, persuasive language.

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD principles, or modern deployment tools.

    • Assist in developing, configuring, and maintaining SharePoint Online sites, lists, libraries, forms, and workflows.
    • Support enhancements and troubleshooting for Power Apps and Power Automate solutions.
    • Help maintain site structures, permissions, security models, and content lifecycle management.
    • Collaborate with business units to translate requirements into effective SharePoint/M365 solutions.
  • Application Support & Integration
    • Assist with resolving issues related to enterprise collaboration tools, including SharePoint, Power Platform, and related M365 services.
    • Participate in testing, documenting, and deploying enhancements and updates across supported systems.
    • Contribute to integration work and automations involving APIs, data connections, and workflow orchestrations.
  • Emerging Automation & Efficiency Initiatives
    • Support ongoing efforts to improve process automation, system integration, and data workflows across IT and business teams.
    • Assist with light scripting and data tasks (e.g., data transformation, automation, simple scripts) with an opportunity to expand these skills over time.
    • Participate in long term initiatives related to centralized analytics, modern automation practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration, Documentation & Compliance
    • Create user/IT documentation, technical notes, and process guides.
    • Maintain awareness of compliance obligations and ensure solutions adhere to corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
