Job Title: Youth Care Worker - Bi-Weekly Live-In

Reports To: Program Coordinator/HSP Non-Exempt: X


Summary of the Job:
Youth Care Worker is responsible for daily guidance/supervision of client at all times.
The YCW assists clients to achieve the goals of his/her individual service plan. The
YCW should be committed to Sanctuary practice utilizing tools that reinforce our shared
language to create a trauma-responsive culture.


Primary Responsibilities:
1. Maintain supervision of clients at all times.
2. Daily documentation per program procedures.
3. Visibly monitor sleeping clients and document per program procedures.
4. Administer medication as directed by physician and the client’s service plan.
5. Prepare and serve well-balanced meals according to USDA guidelines as
assigned.
6. Lead the clients in establishing ways of living together and managing their daily
productive lives per individual service plan.
7. Develop and lead group meetings daily and/or as needed.
8. Respond appropriately to crisis situations using Emergency Safety Interventions
including the use of de-escalating techniques and performing physical control
positions when necessary.
9. Transport clients as required.
10. Utilize personal safety plan for managing emotions and interactions with staff and
clients.
11. Provide appropriate behavior management techniques according to agency
guidelines.
12. Help build and maintain a positive environment for clients.
13. Demonstrate leadership, develop teamwork and function as contributing member
of the team.

Additional Responsibilities:
1. Teach clients hygiene, good health, safety habits, money management and other
life skills per individual service plans.
2. Plan daily devotion time and attend church or other religious education
opportunities with clients.
3. Participate in staff meetings, intakes, conferences, treatment team meetings and
other meetings as required.
4. Perform searches of residents/rooms as needed within agency guidelines.
5. Maintain cottage/program facility to meet all licensing/accreditation requirements
and contract guidelines including minor maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep of
grounds and buildings.

6. Teach clients procedures for upkeep of assigned facility and grounds.
7. Provide on-call services as assigned.
8. Represent agency favorably at all time.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. At least 21 years of age
2. Must have High School/GED with two years of direct service experience with
children and families or Associates /Bachelor’s degree or higher in a behavioral or
social science field.
3. Have the physical ability, energy, flexibility and maturity to perform the duties
and responsibilities of the job to include performance of Emergency Safety
Interventions including physical control positions.
4. Establish positive relationships with clients and others.
5. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to follow structured routines.
7. Develop and utilize appropriate childcare skills.
8. Display a Christian character.
9. Basic computer skills (minimum Word and E-Mail).

1. Agree to abide by all the policies, rules, guidelines and regulations of the Georgia
Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, Inc.
2. Exhibit tactfulness and good judgment in dealing with people
3. Familiar with traditional Baptist tenets, customs and practices and shall maintain
a compatible lifestyle
4. Meet all employee guidelines and qualifications as outlined by GBCH & FM,
license, contracts and accreditation.
5. Exhibit the Core Values of Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family
Ministries, Inc.
6. Utilize the Sanctuary Model of Care and conduct job responsibilities in a traumaresponsive manner.
7. Have the ability to work in partnership with other members in a team approach
