Job description

Are you passionate about maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces? Do you take pride in ensuring grounds are safe, clean, and visually appealing? If you are detail-oriented in your craft and want to be part of a fun dynamic team, then Alyeska Resort is for you! 

We’re looking for Groundskeeper professionals to join our team in Girdwood, Alaska
 
What You’ll Do 
As a Groundskeeper (Year-Round), you’ll play a key role in maintaining the overall appearance and safety of our grounds, including landscaping, lawn care, facility upkeep, and more.  
 
Your responsibilities will include: 

Summer: 

  • Mow and trim all lawns. 
  • Cut and prune trees as directed. 
  • Assist in maintenance of gardens. 
  • Repair potholes on resort roadways and parking lots. 
  • Maintenance of drainage ditches and runoff zones. 
  • Set up and tear down tents as needed for events. 

Winter: 

  • Set up and assist in efficient parking at Daylodge parking lot. 
  • Maintain necessary signage to facilitate smooth traffic flow in all areas at Alyeska Resort. 
  • Sand by hand or with sand truck as needed. 
  • Maintain barrels of sand for traction at building entries/exits. 
  • Shovel/remove ice on walkways around hotel and other buildings. 
  • Plow parking lots and roadways with truck. 
  • Operate skid steer loader with snow blower on hotel pathways. 
  • Clear snow as needed from roofs. 
  • Do daily inspection of all parking lots, sidewalks, roadways and entry/exits of all buildings for icy conditions. 

Miscellaneous: 

  • Maintain clean workspace. 
  • Take responsibility for equipment and vehicles you operate. 
  • Clean up trash around buildings, roadways and parking lots.

What We Need 

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.  
  • Ability to operate small equipment and vehicles, including sand and plow trucks 
  • Must have valid driver’s license and ability to pass a D.O.T. physical 
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 80 lbs. and push/pull up to 150 lbs. 
     

What to Expect 
 Be on alert and at times, on your feet for long periods, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 
 Work in a fast-paced, high-energy resort environment. 
 Adapt to seasonal changes around the resort and special events. 
 Physical demands: ability to lift up-to 80lbs., bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment and stand for extended periods of time.
