Principle Purpose of Job
As the Equestrian Barn Manager at Cabin Creek Stables, your mission is to ensure exceptional guest experiences and operational efficiency. You'll oversee day-to-day operations, focusing on revenue growth, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and conduct horseback, wagon, and sleigh rides, ensuring each guest enjoys a safe and memorable adventure at Cabin Creek Stables.
  • Take charge of all guest activities offered through the stables, overseeing every detail to guarantee a seamless and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.
  • Handle employee scheduling and training, cultivating a skilled and motivated team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and upholding the ranch's standards.
  • Manage and assist the training of all animals through natural horsemanship practices related to horseback riding and driving teams of draft horses
  • Purchase and cull all Stables livestock for the ranch
  • Collaborate on marketing initiatives to enhance the stables' visibility and attract new guests, contributing ideas and insights to drive business growth.
  • Organize and oversee various projects aimed at improving stables operations and guest experiences, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and within budget.
  • Develop and manage budgets, optimizing resources to achieve financial goals while maintaining high standards of service and care.
  • Maintain exemplary standards of equine care, prioritizing the health, safety, and well-being of all stabled animals through attentive oversight and proactive veterinary management.
  • Procure necessary supplies for smooth stables operations, managing inventory levels and vendor relationships to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Recruit and hire personnel as needed to support stables operations, selecting candidates who align with the ranch's values and commitment to excellence.
  • Oversee the training and development of wranglers, providing guidance and support to foster a skilled and cohesive team capable of delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • Ensure the upkeep of stables facilities, including fences, corrals, and equipment, conducting regular inspections and maintenance to uphold safety and functionality standards.
  • Preserve and service carriages, wagons, and sleighs, ensuring they are in optimal condition for guest use and contributing to the overall quality of the guest experience.

Requirements
  • Degree in Animal Science and/or minimum 3 years of stables operations experience.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in natural horsemanship
  • Preference for candidates with hospitality background in a trail riding operation.
  • Expertise in horsemanship, including trail riding and driving teams of draft horses.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery required.
  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer required.
  • Strong knowledge of horse health and large animal care.
  • First Aid/CPR certification desirable.
  • Willingness to be on-call during specific periods.
  • Previous experience in education, teaching, or coaching preferred.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.

Compensation Description:
$60,000 - $70,000/yr Competitive pay commensurate with education and experience.

Due to the nature of our 24-hour operation, there is no guaranteed work schedule. Managers will try to accommodate specific schedule requests, but they are never guaranteed if business volume prohibits.
