Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking individuals with a commanding voice, a flair for the drama, and a passion for storytelling to join our team as Zombie Narrators for our one-of-a-kind Zombie Paintball attraction. Each fall during September and October, guests board a vehicle and are armed with paintball guns for a thrilling mission - to survive the zombie apocalypse. As a Zombie Narrator, you will deliver the in-character mission briefing that sets the scene, builds excitement, and gets every guest ready for battle.
This is a temporary, seasonal position ideal for performers, storytellers, voice artists, and anyone who loves Halloween, zombies, and immersive theatrical entertainment.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Deliver a live, in-character mission briefing to guests before they board the Zombie Paintball attraction vehicle
  • Use voice, pacing, and dramatic storytelling to set the tone and build excitement for the experience
  • Clearly communicate all safety rules, equipment use, and ride expectations as part of the briefing
  • Rotate between briefing groups throughout the shift as new guests arrive
  • Collaborate with Zombie Actors, Tractor Drivers, and haunt staff to ensure smooth attraction flow
  • Follow scripted narrative content while adapting energy and delivery to each group
  • Assist with guest safety-equipment checks prior to boarding
  • Attend mandatory pre-season orientation, safety training, and rehearsals
  • Maintain vocal stamina and consistent performance throughout the full shift
  • Adhere to all safety protocols for guests and fellow cast and crew
  • Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any script, safety, or equipment concerns

Education, Skills & Knowledge
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Strong verbal communication skills with a clear, expressive, and engaging voice
  • Ability to memorize and deliver scripted safety and story content while maintaining natural, compelling delivery
  • Comfortable performing live in front of crowds near active paintball activity
  • Physically able to stand and project your voice for extended periods
  • Ability to commit to the full September-October season, including all Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional - attendance is critical to our team's success
  • Prior acting, voice performance, or public speaking experience is a plus, but not required

Working Conditions
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying fall weather conditions
  • Sufficient vocal endurance to project and perform across multiple briefings per evening
  • Tolerance for the sounds, lights, and atmosphere of an active paintball environment
  • Comfort with close-proximity guest interaction in high-energy, fast-paced situations

Availability Requirements
Candidates must be available to work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening throughout the entire September and October season. Shifts will run from early evening through late-night hours. Specific shift times will be communicated prior to the season start. Attendance at mandatory pre-season training (typically held in late August or early September) is also required.
Be a team player and adhere to the Blake Family Mission Statement "Growing Good Times and Memories for Every Generation" and embody our core values:
W- Whatever it takes
H- Help each other be successful
A- Accountable to one another
T- Treat customers like guests in our homes and employees like family
Additional Duties:
This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed. You will be expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested by your supervisors.
