The Manufacturing Engineer will play a role in the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall productivity. Leveraging your experience and technical expertise, you will participate in projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations. The primary focus will be on the improvement of existing plastic extrusion and packaging processes.
What you will be doing:
  • Engage in projects related to process improvement, cost reduction, and new product introductions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution within defined timelines and budget constraints
  • Work with product design teams and fellow engineers to ensure that designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and align with production capabilities
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability and process considerations
  • Take part in the design and development of manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with production goals and quality standards
  • Implement improvements to existing processes, utilizing Lean and Six Sigma principles to optimize efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and suggest solutions to increase overall effectiveness
  • Drive initiatives to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance overall operational efficiency
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to processes, equipment, and materials
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to perform measures that enhance product quality and reliability
  • Design and apply quality control procedures and systems
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and safety protocols
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices
  • Conduct cost analysis for manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Attend all required company training

Must have for this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent/related
  • 2+ years related experience, or advanced degree
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Individual should be a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-changing, high-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work well with others

Nice to have:
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in leading cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards
