Job Description
Trusted Space is seeking an Aerospace Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree or higher, and 4+ years of experience to join our team. Key responsibilities for this position include:
  • Supporting our DoD customer in designing, testing and delivering Space Domain Awareness operator tools and procedures to enable our customer to expand operational capabilities using an Agile approach.
  • Providing regular analysis support for operations, exercises and experiments.
  • Reporting to the Trusted Space Director of Onsite Operations, the successful candidate will be part of an Agile development team, contributing to the development of new and existing capabilities to help ensure mission success.
  • The successful candidate will work collaboratively as a part of a diverse team of Software, Aerospace and System Engineers using various Open Source and Commercial technologies to field solutions to solve the customer's diverse problem sets.
  • Primary daily work location is on customer site at Dahlgren, VA.

The successful candidate is also mission-focused and passionate about solving challenging problems as part of a distributed engineering team using established Agile principles and advocating for them throughout the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong problem-solving skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to create new innovative capabilities, and who is a cultural fit with our company values of excellence, agility and applying "The Golden Rule".
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering (preferred) or related engineering field
  • 3+ years of experience in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
  • Familiarity with current DoD and/or Intelligence Community space systems
  • Experience operating, testing and validating aerospace software tools
  • Experience working with aerospace related datasets and orbit determination methods
  • Experience working with aerospace software tools such as: Orekit, GMAT, ODTK, OD++, STK, etc.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft flight dynamics modeling and simulation and/or spacecraft flight dynamics operations
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and operate in a collaborative, fast-paced, process-oriented, deadline-driven environment
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse and distributed teams
  • An Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph
Desired Skills
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related engineering field and 2+ yrs experience
  • Familiarity with the Agile Manifesto and experience working on teams using Agile processes
  • Experience in one or more government, DoD or IC satellite operations centers

Salary Range: The salary range for this role is $120,000-$150,000. Please note that this range is a general guideline and can vary.
