Job description

**Must be local and able to interview in person at Ann Arbor office.**
Home Instead is looking for a caring and compassionate Caregiver (Care Professional) to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.
Home Instead refers to their Caregivers as Care Professionals (Care Pros).
Live-in position requires the caregiver (Care Pro) be present at the client's home for a minimum of 120 hours per week, assigned by the office. Room provided. Meals would need to be covered by the Caregiver (Care Pro).
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks
  • Meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Transportation to appointments
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Ability to handle a client with MS and limited mobility

Requirements to be a Care Professional:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with seniors or those with disabilities
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Currently an undergraduate student or completion of at least a bachelor's degree
  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
  • Possess a vehicle, valid driver's license and valid auto insurance
  • Must be able to interview in person at the Ann Arbor, MI office
  • CNA certification is a plus
