Compensation: $18.00 - $27.00 Hourly

Job Summary

As the Fiber Splicer, you will ultimately be responsible for splicing and testing fiber optic networks, maintaining quality workmanship, and supporting successful project execution in the field. You will perform fiber installation, troubleshooting, and documentation while ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently. Your customers are Congruex project teams and utility clients, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through technical expertise, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)

  • Perform fiber optic splicing, troubleshooting, and network testing using OTDR and related equipment.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections, prepare equipment, and maintain tools required for field operations.
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure quality standards and project specifications are met.
  • Complete daily documentation and communicate project updates to the Project Manager.
  • Follow all company safety policies while representing Congruex and clients professionally on job sites.
  • Collaborate with field crews and assist the Project Manager with project activities as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • DOT Medical Card required before operating a company vehicle.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Experience

  • Experience performing fiber optic splicing, testing, or telecommunications field work preferred.
  • Experience working in outdoor construction environments.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to splice, troubleshoot, and test fiber optic networks using OTDR equipment.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work, including climbing ladders.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn and adapt.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the telecommunications, utility, construction, or engineering industry.
  • Experience with fiber optic testing equipment and documentation processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, kneel, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
