Job description

SCO Family of Services is currently seeking Residential Counselors to join our team in our Madonna Heights Group Residence in Dix Hills! Residential Counselors provide support and implement recreational wellness and transitional activities to At-Risk Adolescent Females (12-22) while maintaining a positive, safe and healthy environment.
As a Residential Counselor, you will:
  • Demonstrate good judgement and decision making in the application of agency philosophy policies and procedures
  • Maintain an awareness of each resident's emotional, physical and spiritual needs and refers her to other team members (when necessary) to meet those needs.
  • Provides immediate therapeutic crisis, intervention in order to provide structure and discipline in line with policies.
  • Actively works as a member to the treatment team & contributes to the formulation of individual treatment plans for each resident though the submission of written reports and participation in meetings, Then, carries out treatment plans where appropriate.
  • Provides transportation of residents for recreational trips, medical appointments, and train runs etc. in agency vehicles with prior approval.
  • Supervises resident's personal hygiene routines, management of clothing, care of supply and equipment.
  • Teach daily living and socialization skills.

Ideal Candidates must possess:
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience working with adolescents (preferred)
A strong belief in others ability to grow and change
Clean and Valid driver's license
