Description:
What are SCL & MPW Services?
In Kentucky, the Supports for Community Living (SCL) and Michelle P. Waiver (MPW) programs are designed to provide an alternative to institutional care.
- Our Mission: These waivers fund the support needed for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live in their own homes and stay connected to their local neighborhoods.
- Your Role: You are the key to making this mission a reality, providing the "boots on the ground" support that keeps families together and communities diverse.
Why Choose Community Inclusion?
At Community Inclusion, we believe that strong organizations are built by strong teams. Our work is centered on dignity, inclusion, and empowerment—supporting individuals, families, and communities through services that create stability, independence, and meaningful opportunity. When you join Community Inclusion, you become part of a collaborative leadership team focused on building a positive workplace culture, supporting employee growth, and ensuring the organization continues to serve the community with excellence.
Role Overview
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) specializing in Personal Assistant and Personal Care services, you are the primary link between our participants and their community. Your role is to provide tailored support—ranging from hands-on care to verbal guidance—that allows individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live independently in their own homes rather than in an institutional setting.
You are a facilitator of independence. Whether you are assisting with personal hygiene, teaching a participant how to grocery shop, or providing transportation to a local community event, your work ensures that every individual has the opportunity to live a life defined by choice, dignity, and social connection.
