Job description

Job DescriptionPosition Summary

Housekeepers take charge of cleaning the guest facilities and bathrooms including making beds and preparing comfortable guest spaces, setting up furniture and audio-visual equipment in meeting rooms, and transporting furniture, equipment, and supplies to various locations. Additional guest services, such as beverage station set up, stocking, and clean up, may be required. Staff must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 lbs., drive the housekeeping vehicle safely, learn the safe use of cleaning products, prioritize job duties, work within deadlines, and maintain a high degree of self-motivation.

Work Unit Description

Live and work in a beautiful mountain valley for the summer and/or fall season at the Mountain Campus. Be part of a small community of staff working towards a common goal to serve the Education, Research, and Outreach missions at Colorado State University. Enjoy the mountain lifestyle - hiking, fishing, mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, or lounging in a hammock with a good book - when you are "off-the-clock".

A few items to be aware of in regard to these positions are:

  • Located 53 miles west of Fort Collins at 9,000 feet in a remote mountain valley.
  • Housing and 3 meals daily provided as part of the compensation package.
  • Employees work a 32 - 40-hour work week with two days off each week
  • No pets or ESAs are permitted
  • No cell phone service at the Mountain Campus
  • Position is for fall- Mid-August to Mid-October
Essential Job Duties
  • Clean guest facilities and bathrooms, including making beds and preparing comfortable guest spaces.

  • Set up furniture and audiovisual equipment in meeting rooms.

  • Transport furniture, equipment, and supplies to designated locations.

  • Provide guest services such as beverage station setup, stocking, and cleanup.

  • Safely operate housekeeping vehicles, use cleaning products properly, and manage tasks within deadlines.

Conditions of Employment

1. Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires)

2. Special Requirements/Other: Must be 18 years of age

No formal supervision

Minimum Qualifications

1. Will be 18 years of age upon or before the first day of employment.

2. Staff must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Valid Driver's License.

2. Prior custodial experience
