A Live-In Cannabis caretaker is responsible for the ongoing monitoring and care of cannabis plants, which includes daily tasks such as watering, pruning, checking for pests, and adjusting environmental controls. The role often requires flexible hours, as plant health can demand attention outside of a typical 9–5 schedule. Caretakers also keep records of plant progress, report to supervisors or growers, and stay up to date with ever-changing regulatory requirements. Close collaboration with cultivation teams, security staff, and compliance officers is common, fostering a dynamic and team-oriented work environment. This arrangement provides hands-on industry experience and can be an excellent stepping stone to management or specialized cultivation roles.
A Live In Cannabis job typically involves residing on-site at a cannabis farm or facility to oversee daily operations, security, and plant care. Responsibilities may include cultivation, harvesting, trimming, and facility maintenance. Employers often provide housing as part of the compensation package. These roles require knowledge of cannabis cultivation, compliance with local laws, and the ability to work long hours in an agricultural setting.
To thrive as a Live-In Cannabis Caretaker, candidates need hands-on experience in horticulture, knowledge of cannabis cultivation, and an understanding of plant care best practices. Proficiency in environmental control systems, nutrient mixing, and compliance with local/state cannabis regulations is highly valuable. Strong organizational skills, reliability, and effective communication help ensure smooth coordination and round-the-clock plant care. These technical and interpersonal strengths are crucial for maintaining a healthy, legal, and productive cannabis growing operation.
